Océ JetStream printer enters French market

EDIPOST is the first company in France to acquire an Océ JetStream 1000 inkjet continuous feed printing system

Venlo, The Netherlands, 27 September 2010 - Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announces that EDIPOST is the first company in France to acquire an Océ JetStream® 1000 inkjet continuous feed printing system. EDIPOST, which was already equipped with five Océ continuous feed black & white printers, thus cemented its relationship with Océ by choosing a 4-colour inkjet system that paves the way for true industrialisation of production.

First Océ JetStream 1000 4-colour inkjet system in France

With an annual production of around 100 million transactional and direct marketing letters, EDIPOST is a general service provider with proven expertise in the field of transaction printing and direct marketing. The company has all of the skills required to supply customised services and reacts rapidly to bulk mailing requests for strategic documents with tight deadlines.

In this field, the Océ JetStream 1000, with its web speed of 75 metres per minute (1,010 A4 full-colour pages), is another string to EDIPOST’s bow and its 500 key clients in different sectors, such as water supply, banking, insurance, mutual insurance companies and credit agencies.

As a digital printing provider with a fleet of black & white and colour printing systems, EDIPOST went one step further in equipping its staff with an inkjet system. Jacques Mouret, CEO of EDIPOST, said: “We’re proud to be the first company in France to operate an Océ JetStream 1000. We made this decision after reviewing all the inkjet printers available on the market. The Océ JetStream 1000 stands out for its compact footprint and its ability to print back-to-back in a single print run.” Océ JetStream printers also feature great flexibility in terms of integration into the existing IT environment and pre/post equipment.

Océ JetStream 1000 strengthens industrialisation approach

The entire solution implemented by the company represents an overall investment of 3 million euros that reflects EDIPOST’s commitment to industrialising its production process.

The Océ JetStream 1000 primarily supports the production of transactional documents, including their new TransPromo applications. It allows 4-colour printing of highly customised documents starting from the blank paper reel without the need for preprinted offset shells. Jacques Mouret comments: “Océ JetStream technology has revolutionised the production process in favour of the end customer, who benefits from being able to order their global printing services from the same supplier, with very fast reaction times and a significant cost reduction such as less waste and less stock. With this technology, our services become part of a truly industrial approach while promoting on-demand printing.”

The integration of the Océ JetStream 1000 inkjet system into a complete production line emphasises this process of industrialisation. In addition to the printing system itself, the production line will incorporate a Carroll hole punch and a TECNAU TC 1550 FT3 microperforator for inline dynamic microperforation.

In this respect, EDIPOST’s choice of the Océ solution was motivated by Océ’s ability to act as a solution integrator and project manager. Sebastian Landesberger, Executive Vice President, Océ Production Printing, says: “Océ is recognised in the global printing industry for its ability to integrate full-line high-production colour printing solutions into customised production processes covering the entire value chain from order entry to delivery. As the market leader for continuous feed black & white printing, we have also applied our leadership in high-speed variable data printing to the continuous feed colour printing market, especially through our Océ JetStream inkjet portfolio.”
